I’ve been revisiting the sound art of Maryanne Amacher lately and have been fascinated again by her exploration of listening and the relations between sounds. She gave a talk about her discovery of the second and the third ear a Ars Electronica in Linz (Austria) in 1989:

I composed a tribute piece: Solo for Maryanne Amacher recently, which will be released at the end of February on Bandcamp and maybe with a video on YouTube. Part two of this piece is in a mix on Mixcloud already. The title of the show is Drones for the Third Ear (A tribute to Maryanne Amacher). The pieces in this mix relate to her theory of the Third Ear in different ways.
